Rederij de Jong and new company C-Shipping & Logistics to begin marine transport

Rederij de Jong B.V., one of the largest Dutch shipping companies in inland shipping and the largest in push barges, is now going into seagoing transport. Rederij de Jong founded the new firm C-Shipping & Logistics B.V. for this purpose.

Wouter Kleiss and Mathijs van Schaik, who have been well known names in the world of maritime transport for years, have been recruited as operational directors and bring with them an extensive network.

For Rederij de Jong this means a substantial expansion of their portfolio in sea chartering, a world characterized by ‘people’s business’. “The confidence in C- Shipping & Logistics is already there even though it is a completely new player in the market”, according to operations director Pelger de Jong from Rederij de Jong.

C-Shipping & Logistics will be active in sea chartering, ship agencies, barging, transhipment and storage, in short: chain management. “Now we can offer our clients a broader service package. It is our goal is to relieve cargo stakeholders of risks and concerns and to support them in their complete transport needs by providing the whole package, from A to Z. It saves a lot of time and effort when everything is in one hand, with one point of contact for the entire chain.”

“There is a clear demand in the market for a one stop shop”, director Wouter Kleiss of C-Shipping & Logistics confirms. “We completely relieve the customer by arranging everything.”

Rederij de Jong and C-Shipping & Logistics are currently located in an office in the Botlek area; in 2020 they will move to a new office building at the De Dijk business park, situated in Maassluis on the banks of the river Nieuwe Waterweg.
