“You can refer to logistics as a black box” says Marcel Merkx, CEO of CargoSnap. “Cargo goes in, cargo goes out. Sometimes something does not go right and a damage occurs. Those who use our app, can easily document the condition of the goods, save the data and have sufficient evidence for any future potential claim.” This is not the only advantage of the app, which by the way was named The Cool Vendor of 2019 by Gartner – a highly accredited consultancy firm.
The idea behind CargoSnap came about in 2016, as a result of a very practical question by Euro-Rijn, also a member of the RPPC. They really wanted to have an easy mobile tool to collect data in the terminal. Process is of crucial importance here: the easier, the better, thought Euro-Rijn as well as CargoSnap.
Every logistics situation is different. CargoSnap offers a suitable solution with its modular approach. Every company uses modules which are only relevant to them. This way companies can adapt CargoSnap mobile app to easily add photos to a file, or fill in a digital form. CargoSnap enables companies to create their own workflows that reflect their individual process, so that correct information is collected at any given point in time or place. This data can then be shared through creating reports or simply shared via and email or a link. “We did not want to only create an app through which information can only be collected, but also one where it is easy to extra information from. This vital data can then be shared with other parties in the supply chain”.
The company grew quite rapidly in three years, they now currently have more than 100 customers worldwide and the number keeps growing. We do not intend to expand into other sectors, we would rather keep improving our solution for our customers and prospects. The app is not just perfect for saving valuable data or having a consistent information flow. According to the feedback of our clients, there is also less damage being made as a result of the use of CargoSnap, and our clients’ customers are very happy with the extra service that they receive.”
Why isn’t everyone using our app yet? Merkx smiles at that: “Not everyone knows us yet! We hope that that will soon change. Companies that already have thought about a similar process to gather data are quick to implement the CargoSnap solution. To those that have yet to come up with a process and continue to improvise, I have to explain a bit more at times.
