RPPC Profile
The RPPC puts the port of Rotterdam on the world map. In practical terms, this means that the RPPC brings its members into contact with each other and with potential customers by arranging promotional trips and business receptions in the port of Rotterdam and by participating in trade fairs. If required, the RPPC will provide support to individual members for PR and marketing activities. Members include shipbrokers, forwarding agents, stevedores, financial services providers etc. and also the Rotterdam Port Authority, the Rotterdam Chamber of Commerce and other relevant trade organisations.
The Board
The Rotterdam Port Promotion Council is controlled by the Board. The Board consists of representatives of Deltalinqs, The Rotterdam Chamber of Commerce, the Netherlands Association for Forwarding and Logistics (FENEX) and the Association of Rotterdam Shipbrokers and Agents (VRC).

Advisory Board
The Advisory Board advises the Board and management with regard to market developments, strategic developments and the competitive position of the Port of Rotterdam as far as they are related to the activities of RPPC.
The Advisory board is appointed by the Board of the Rotterdam Port Promotion Council. The Advisory Board consists of representatives of companies and authorities involved in providing logistics and maritime services.

Management and staff
The RPPC office has a well-trained, experienced and motivated staff of eight. Each of them supports members in his or her respective area of specialisation (project management, public relations and marketing). Mrs. Marjolein Warburg is the Managing director of the Rotterdam Port Promotion Council.

Port of Rotterdam throughput up 3%
In the first quarter of 2012, throughput in the port of Rotterdam was 3% up on the same period of last year, at 110 million tonnes.
