RPPC: the promotor of the Rotterdam port industry

The Rotterdam Port Promotion Council (RPPC), founded in 1933, acts as intermediary for its 250 members, companies which are active in and around the port of Rotterdam. As a promotor of the port and maritime industry, the RPPC arranges specific and general promotion aimed at retaining and expanding both cargoflows via the Port of Rotterdam, and services in other port activities and logistics.

RPPC membership is open to companies active in or having a business interest in directly and indirectly port-related services in the port, transport and logistics sectors in the great Rotterdam area.

Membership of the RPPC means:

  • participation in national and international activities;
  • free listing and link on the RPPC website;
  • introduction in the bimonthly RPPC Bulletin;
  • introduction in MainPort;
  • introduction within the worldwide RPPC network.

Who can join?
The RPPC has approximately 250 members. Virtually all sectors in and around the port are represented, including warehousing and transhipment companies, transport companies, forwarding agents, stevedores, shipbrokers, ship operators and the maritime industry. Companies having an indirect link with the port, such as banks, insurance companies, legal and financial advisers are also members of the RPPC.

Final throughput figures 2011 for Rotterdam
The final figures for the throughput in the port of Rotterdam in 2011 come out at 434.6 million tonnes, which is a 1.0 percent increase compared with the year 2010.
